Itinerary for 8 Nights and 9 Days (Via Paro)

Detailed Itinerary

Day-1: ( Arrive Paro Airport by Bhutan flight & transfer to Thimphu(Capital City) which takes maximum 1 hr drive / 2350 meters at the sea level)

Bhutan Flight to Paro is one of the most spectacular of all mountain flights. Whether flying along the Himalayan range from Kathmandu, each flight is a mesmerizing feat and offers exciting descent into the kingdom. On arrival at the airport, received by our (Palbheu Tours and Trek) representative and then transfer to Thimphu, the modern capital town of Bhutan.


Overnight stay at Thimphu.


Day-2: ( Thimphu Sightseeing 2350 at the sea level)

After breakfast visit Thimphu Sightseeing as below:

Statue of Buddha Dordenma: Great Buddha Dordenma is one of the wonders of the world at a top hill in Thimphu and could be seen from any Conner of the city.


Memorial Chorten( Stupa): The stupa build in 1974 to honor the third king , Jigme Dorji Wangchuck is a well-known landmark in the city.


Simply Bhutan: Simply Bhutan is a place where can witness about Bhutanese culture, foods habits, antics used in old times, national games, national dress and so on.


Takin Preserve Centre (National animal of Bhutan): Takin Preserve Centre located in the Motithang and originally a mini-zoo, it was converted into a preserve Centre.


Painting School: Here you will see, the students at work producing difficult design of cloths, embroidery, sculpting, sketching, wood carving etc.


Folk Heritage Museum: Folk Heritage Museum, an attractive proof of the Bhutanese material culture and living traditions.


Tradition Medicine Institute: Tradition Medicine institute is worthwhile where centuries old healing arts still practiced.


National Library: National library that has vast collection of ancient Buddhist text and manuscript.


Paper factory: In Paper factory we will witness entire hand making process traditionally from the bark of a tree named Daphne and its output in the other showroom.


Textile Museum: In Textile Industry we will witness difficult unique art form in connection with different uniqueness of different region.


Overnight stay at Thimphu Hotel.


Day-3 : ( Thimphu to Punakha which takes 2-3 hrs drive / Appro. 1350 at the sea level)

After breakfast drive to Punakha with a short stop at Dochula Pass (3140 Meters Approx) that heralds the most charming views of Bhutan.


After reaching Punakha directly you can proceed below sightseeing:

Punakha Dzong (Fortress) the 17th Century fortress that has played important role in building up of modern Bhutan. On our way to Punakha, the former capital of Bhutan, we will stop at Dochula Pass. Providing stunning 360-degree views of the Himalayan Mountains. Sitting at the fork of two rivers, Punakha Dzong is considered one of the most beautiful spots in Bhutan. With spectacular displays of Bhutanese architecture, it stands like a medieval city surrounded by lavender Jacaranda trees.

Chimi Lhakhang (Monastery Drukpa Kinley 1455-1529): Chimi lhakhang is well known as temple of fertility and one of the well known master teaching in unorthodox ways of teaching Buddhism by singing method in the locality.


Khamsum Yelley Namgyal Chortem( Temple): This chorten( Stupa) was build in 2004 by HM the Queen Mother, Ashi Tshering Yongdon Wangchuck with intention of bringing peace in the world in general and to clear obstacles for the country of Bhutan in particular.


Overnight stay at Punakha hotel.


Day-4: ( Punakha to Bumthang Valley 2550 M from seal level/ 6-7 Hrs Drive)

About eight hours’ drive from Punakha to Bumthang, we enter the central district of Trongsa, the ancestral home of Bhutan’s royal family. We get to see the resplendent Trongsa Dzong in the valley center. Its labyrinth of temples, corridors, offices and living quarters for the monks add up to a masterpiece in Bhutanese architecture. We also get to visit the Chendebji Chorten. This large white chorten is patterned after Swayambhunath temple in Kathmandu. It sits at a lovely spot by a river confluence.


Overnight stay at Bumthang Hotel.

Day-5: ( Bumthang Valley Sightseeing 2550 M )

After breakfast visit below sightseeing:

In Bumthang we will visit the most scared temples and monasteries of Bhutan like (Kurjey Lhakhang, Jambay Lhakhang, Tamshing Goemba and Kenchosum Lhakhang). We will also visit the Jakar Dzong (known as the Castle of White Bired in the medieval times). There is also a place to behold - The Swiss Farm - owned by a local Swiss Bhutanese Fritz Maurer. This is where a variety of Swiss cheese and Bhutan’s only native beer, Red Panda are produced.


Overnight Stay at Bumthang hotel.


Day-6: ( Bumthang to Phobjikha Valley 2950 M from sea level 4 to 5 Hrs Drive )

After the breakfast drive to Phobjikha valley to visit below sightseeing:

Today we travel to Phobjikha (Gangtey) Valley known as the winter home of the black-necked cranes (Grus nigricollis), you can see 600 of these elegant, shy birds that migrate here from Tibet between November and March. This bowl-shaped valley is also a wildlife preserve, so you might also see the other native animals to Bhutan, including muntjac, sambar, serow, or yak. We will also visit the Gangtey Goemba - which is a 17th-century monastery that sits on a hill, overlooking the entire Gangtey valley.


Overnight stay at Phobjikha Valley.


Note: In Phobjikha valley will stay at home stay to experience the authentic life style of Bhutan Culture and Tradition.


Day-7: (Phobjikha to Paro which takes 4-5 hrs approx and 2200 Metres from the sea level)

On arrival visit below sightseeings:

Paro Dzong (Fortress 15 Century): Paro Dzong is also well known as Rinpung Dzong which is house monastic Body and government admistrative offices of Paro Dzongkhag/District.


National Museum: National Museum is also well know as Ta-Dzong( Watch Tower) locally build in 1967 it is serving as the National Museum of the country and holding fascination collection of art, artifacts , thangkha paintings and Bhutan’s exquisite postage stamps.


Overnight stay at Paro hotel.


Day-8: (Paro sighteeing hike to Tigernest Monastery 3000 Metres Approx from the sea level)

After breakfast drive to base point of Tiger Nest to continue the hike of 7 to 8 hrs in total. Monastery is well known history of Guru Padmasambhava or Guru Rinpoche visited this scared site in 8 century to subdue the demons of Paro valley and its uniqueness of building temple build in 1692.

Day-9: (Paro Depart)
