Super Fab Lab

DHI in collaboration with the Bhutan Foundation and Center of Bits and Atoms (CBA) in MIT, will be establishing a fabrication facility center called Super Fab Lab on the ground floor of Thimphu Tech Park, Babesa by the beginning of the year 2021.

This project has funding estimate of 2.5 million US $ and is expected to provide digital design and fabrication platform to increase the hardware capabilities and enable entrepreneurs and any agencies to prototype their ideas using advance digital fabrication tools. Super Fab Lab will provide accessibility to advanced fabrication equipment that includes robotics, 3D printing, 3D scanning, imaging, logic analyzer, electronics production, etc. It will operate innovation and research programs/classes in collaboration with MIT and other international/ national institution to provide and train the entrepreneurs and other participants with the ability of rapid prototyping of machines and expose them to work with metals, composite plastics, and carbon fiber to develop advanced prototypes.
